I was elected as one of the councillors for Freemen Ward in 2007 . I was a Full Time Trade Union with KFAT (National Union of Knitwear,Footwear and Apparel Trades) for 17 years.  After taking voluntary redundany I am now working as an Usher in the Leicestershire County Court. I am married with two grown up sons,a staunch supporter and season ticket holder of Leicester City Football Club, a board member and Director at Phoenix Arts and a member of Camra (Campaign for Real Ale).
