Councillor John Blackmore

Elected on May 1st 2003, John lives with his wife and four children in the New Parks ward. John has been involved in the New Parks area for some 10 years and is a former Chair of the New Parks Community Partnership and the New Parks SureStart Partnership Board. John is currently a Non-Executive Director of Leicester West Primary Care Trust and Labour Spokesperson on Leicester City Councils Resources and Equal Opportunities Scrutiny Committee. John is also a member of the City Councils Social Services Scrutiny Committee and Leisure and Environment Scrutiny Committee. John works closly with his co-councillor, Steve Corrall and, jointly, they hold four surgeries each month and attend as many local community group meetings as possible.
