Welcome to my website, I will be adding items during the year to keep you informed about my work as a Councillor and in the mean time you can visit http://www.manjulasood.com.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my constituents and the Leicester community as a whole for all your help and support during my time as an Elected Member. Since the sudden death of my husband my sons and I have found it difficult but with your support I have been able to carry out my duties as an Elected Member. I was elected City Councillor for the Ward of Latimer, in Leicester East, following the sudden tragic death of my husband the late Councillor Paul Sood in 1996.
I have been an elected sitting councillor for over 10 years. Prior to politics, I was a school teacher for almost 20 years.
I am heavily involved within the local community and my efforts were the driving force for the Labour Party Merit Award in 2004 and Leicestershire and Rutland Women of the Year 2006 Award.
I have lived in Leicester for over 35 years and have two sons.
If you have any problems you want me to help you with please contact me at Leicester City Council on 0116 229 8855 and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Councillor Manjula Sood
