Councillor Ross Grant
I am one of three Councillors for Knighton, serving alongside my Conservative colleague Andy Bayford and one other. I have served as a Councillor since first being elected in 2004, and re-elected in 2007.
I objected to the London Road "Improvement Scheme" and continue to campaign for the road system in Knighton to take into account the real concerns people have about road safety, rat-running and speeding.
I have sat on the Cabinet of the Council with responsibility for Strategy Review & Efficiency, delivering a below inflation council tax rise as well as increasing resources for key services in both years in which I was involved in setting the budget. I will continue to use the experience gained in this role to put pressure on the current administration to continue to follow a programme to find efficiency savings and to use resources effectively to deliver high quality services.
